Team Overview

The Services team works closely together to set PowerSchool customers up for ongoing success through post-implementation support, troubleshooting, consultation on system setup options, and training on features and functionality. The team offers cross-portfolio support, all while meeting organizational objectives for revenue, utilization, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Description

This role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of data solutions while providing technical mentorship and ensuring data integrity.

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Data Engineering & ETL Development: Architect and implement robust and scalable ETL processes to populate data warehouses and data marts. This involves designing and guiding the development of SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers. Proficiency in data extraction, cleansing, transformation, loading, and data quality assurance is essential.
  • Data Modeling & Dimensional Design: Lead the design and implementation of dimensional models that support business intelligence and reporting needs. This includes understanding business processes, identifying key dimensions and measures, and optimizing the data model for query performance.
  • Solution Architecture & Design: Define and document the architecture of systems within specific solutions, conducting thorough requirements analysis and creating detailed designs that align with the overall product architecture and business needs. This includes considering scalability, maintainability, and security.
  • Data Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Translate complex analytics goals into actionable data requirements, working closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify key metrics. Lead requirements gathering sessions and document findings clearly and concisely.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Direct data profiling and source-to-target mappings to ensure data quality and consistency. Implement data quality checks and monitoring processes to identify and resolve data issues. Ensure compliance with data governance policies and regulations.
  • Data Architecture & Lifecycle Management: Demonstrate deep expertise in the end-to-end data lifecycle within cloud-based backend environments. This includes designing data models, implementing governance policies, and ensuring data quality and security.
  • Collaborative Solution Development & Business Partnership: Develop solutions collaboratively with business and application leads, translating business needs into technical specifications. This requires strong communication skills and building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Enablement & Support: Mentor, train, and coach implementation staff on PowerSchool technologies and products, empowering them to effectively deploy and support solutions. This includes creating training materials, conducting workshops, and providing ongoing support to ensure consistent and efficient operations, including troubleshooting issues, documenting best practices, and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
  • Product & Sales Support & Collaboration: Provide technical input and support to the product development team, contributing to the evolution of the product roadmap. To drive successful sales outcomes, offer technical expertise to the sales team, and assist with demos, proposals, and client interactions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant business experience
  • Minimum of 12+ years of related work experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in ETL and implementations
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in writing complex SQL
  • Understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and dimensional design
  • Communicates a sincere desire to provide high-quality implementation services placing customer value first

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional relevant experience may be substitute for an advanced degree
  • Understanding of educational terminology, data standards and customer expectations in the education sector
  • Possess a talent for troubleshooting complex situations
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $138,100 - $187,700 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
