Team Overview

Our Product team leads the direction, coordination, output, quality, and enhancements to PowerSchool’s product portfolio. This dynamic, multi-functional team ensures the effective rollout of new products across the platform, packages and positions products to appeal to consumers, and helps set the future direction and pace of innovation in our organization.

 

We are seeking a Product Owner to lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of College & Career Readiness (CCLR) curriculum and statewide readiness requirements. In this role, you will work closely with the Product Manager for Content & Generative AI, while also directly developing educational content, including curriculum modules, video production, and AI-powered learning experiences. 

This role requires a blend of product ownership and hands-on content creation, ensuring that curriculum materials align with state graduation requirements, college admissions processes, and alternative post-secondary pathways (such as trade schools, apprenticeships, and workforce entry). You will also play a key role in leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance content development, personalization, and student engagement. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

Product Ownership & Requirements Definition 

  • Work closely with the Product Manager for Content & Generative AI to define priorities and execute curriculum enhancements. 
  • Maintain and refine the product backlog for CCLR curriculum, ensuring a steady pipeline of high-impact learning modules and AI-enhanced educational experiences. 
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and user research to understand educator and student needs, ensuring that curriculum content remains relevant and engaging. 

State Strategy, Policy Alignment & Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Act as the primary owner of curriculum-related product requirements, ensuring alignment with state education policies and mandates. 
  • Gather requirements from state education agencies, school districts, and policymakers to ensure compliance with college and career readiness standards. 
  • Serve as the liaison between curriculum teams, product teams, engineers, and state education stakeholders, ensuring alignment on learning objectives and product implementation. 
  • Partner with teachers, school counselors, and education professionals to ensure curriculum meets classroom needs and is effectively integrated into learning platforms. 
  • Monitor state and national education policy changes, ensuring that curriculum content remains compliant with evolving regulations. 

Curriculum Development & Content Creation 

  • Design and develop educational modules, interactive lesson plans, and learning guides that support student exploration of college, career, and alternative pathways. 
  • Produce high-quality instructional videos, working with designers, educators, and subject matter experts to create engaging, digestible content. 
  • Maintain and expand a comprehensive content library, ensuring all materials are accurate, inclusive, and aligned with evolving education requirements. 

AI-Powered Learning Innovation 

  • Utilize Generative AI tools to develop interactive learning experiences, AI-generated career exploration tools, and dynamic student assessments. 
  • Write and optimize AI-driven prompts to personalize learning experiences and improve content accessibility. 

Compliance, Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement 

  • Conduct ongoing data analysis, user feedback collection, and AI-driven insights to refine and optimize curriculum effectiveness. 
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure curriculum modules, videos, and digital content meet accessibility, engagement, and compliance standards. 
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in education, workforce development, and AI applications in learning, using these insights to enhance curriculum offerings. 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product ownership, curriculum development, educational content creation, or related fields. 
  • Strong understanding of state education policies, college admissions, and career readiness frameworks. 
  • Experience in video production and the creation of digital learning content. 
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI tools to enhance content development and student engagement. 
  • Ability to translate education policy and workforce trends into actionable product requirements. 
  • Strong project management skills with experience working across product, engineering, and curriculum development teams. 
  • Excellent content writing and instructional design skills to develop engaging educational materials. 
  • Familiarity with AI-driven learning experiences, adaptive learning models, and content personalization. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Product Management, Digital Learning, or a related field preferred.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $78,300 - $163,700 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
