Team Overview

Our Chief of Staff team oversees the cross-functional coordination of critical, highly visible strategic projects. With a focus on people, process, and systems, the Chief of Staff group helps direct key company priorities in coordination with the Executive Leadership Team. 

 

The Director, Strategic Programs role plays a vital role in our continuous improvement journey by driving strategic initiatives and programs. We are looking for a dynamic leader with strong Program Management skills to join our Chief of Staff team to manage high-impact cross-organizational strategic programs.  This role will be reporting to the Chief of Staff.   

Responsibilities

Description

The person will drive programs to support the CEO’s vision and operational priorities as guided by the Chief of Staff, and will be responsible for coordinating between various functional organizations at PowerSchool. The person would also lead program managers to coordinate integration efforts of acquired entities.

This role will give you significant responsibility, visibility and access to our leadership team with an overall goal of driving initiatives to successful completion through your coordination, partnership and guidance.

 

Your day-to-day job will consist of:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with other functional leaders at PowerSchool to execute projects identified and shaped under the operational leadership of the Chief of Staff in support of the CEO’s company vision.
  • Direct acquisition integration program with departmental stakeholders, including alignment of strategic and tactical priorities, consolidated reporting, systems and data migration, organizational consolidation, etc.
  • Analyze the project portfolio to ensure that work aligns to strategic decisions.
  • Execute quarterly Board Reporting in partnership with Chief of Staff and CEO, including adherence to content requirements, preparation planning and execution, and distribution logistics
  • Evaluate project flow, create management reports, and conduct review meetings to keep projects on track, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tactical or strategic meetings with Executive Leadership
  • Ensure that our best internal resources are assigned to strategic projects and able to complete related tasks
  • Work closely with Chief of Staff and business team members and provide regular monitoring and updates on key operational priorities
  • Facilitate meetings with sponsors and stakeholders to identify project requirements and ensure alignment with PowerSchool’s strategic goals
  • Liaise with Employee Engagement and Communication resources to lead corporate events (Town Halls) and drive CEO-led communications
  • Evaluate tools and techniques used within the company to manage projects. Ensure these applications provide features and benefits required by the company
  • Proactively identify issues that could impact successful execution and solutions to correct those issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years’ experience in project management, operations, strategy, product development, and consulting.
  • 8+ years’ experience in effectively interacting with senior leaders, program/project managers.
  • Experience managing and leading teams and managers.
  • Experience with M&A required.
  • Ability to work across the business, assessing business needs, and assisting in decisions as priorities change.
  • Financial aptitude and proven ability to assess financial reporting and models easily in Excel spreadsheets.
  • Executive presence, relationship building, and strong decision-making skills; highest level of integrity and management of confidential information.
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form, including ability to communicate and guide across multiple levels and functions of the organization.
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive concurrent projects to success.
  • Utilize data and metrics to communicate needs with business unit owners.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $142,700 - $192,500 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; specific geographic location; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
