Overview

As a Program Manager at PowerSchool, you will play a critical role in managing our sprints for engineering and product teams across a variety of products. You will work closely with both engineering and product management teams to execute on the strategic vision, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for supporting product launches, enablement and maintaining accurate operational and capitalized expense profiles to support financial planning and reporting.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  1. Team Support:

    • Provide support and guidance to the engineering team across multiple products, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
    • Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  2. Strategic Execution:

    • Work closely with the product management team to execute on the strategic vision for each product, translating goals into actionable plans and deliverables.
    • Ensure that engineering projects are aligned with business objectives and contribute to the overall success of the company.
  3. Operational Management:

    • Maintain accurate operational and capitalized expense profiles, collaborating with finance and accounting teams to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.
    • Monitor project budgets and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  4. Product Launch Management:

    • Lead and coordinate product launches, ensuring that all aspects of the launch plan are executed successfully and on schedule.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop launch strategies, including marketing, sales, and customer support.
  5. Project Planning and Execution:

    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive project execution and resolve any issues or obstacles that may arise.
  6. Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential challenges to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
    • Implement risk management strategies and contingency plans to ensure project success.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Program Manager, preferably in a technology or software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results and achieving business objectives.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certificates; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
