Overview

PowerSchool is embarking on the journey to reimplement its Salesforce Org, reimage the future, and integrate its ecosystem components.

The Data Systems Designer role is specifically being created to support the successful execution of this large-scale, multi-year project.

PowerSchool is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Systems Designer with a strong background in designing and implementing data frameworks.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of various technologies, data frameworks and architectures to develop robust and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  1. Data Modeling and Design:
    • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models for Salesforce (CRM), Netsuite (ERP), and Snowflake (data warehousing) environments.
    • Define data entities, relationships, and attributes to ensure an efficient and scalable data structure.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data models.
  2. Solution Data Management:
    • Oversee the design and implementation of comprehensive data solutions within Salesforce, Netsuite, and Snowflake environments.
    • Manage end-to-end solutions, considering data modeling, integration, and third-party applications, ensuring alignment with business goals.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to solution architecture to maintain optimal functionality.
  3. Data Integration and Interoperability:
    • Design and implement data integration processes between Salesforce, Netsuite, Snowflake, and third-party applications to enable seamless data flow.
    • Define integration points, data exchange formats, and transformation processes for efficient interoperability.
    • Collaborate with development teams to ensure effective integration of data across different systems, including third-party apps.
    • Align data models and mappings for acquisitions, ensuring seamless system integration and data consistency.
  4. Data Governance and Security:
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies specific to Salesforce, Netsuite, Snowflake, and third-party integrations.
    • Define and implement standards for data quality, security, compliance, and access control.
    • Conduct regular audits and monitoring to ensure adherence to data governance standards.
  5. Strategic Planning and Alignment:
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align data architecture with overall business objectives.
    • Develop and communicate a strategic vision for data management within Salesforce, Netsuite, Snowflake, and integrated third-party applications.
    • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and best practices to enhance data systems and architecture.

Qualifications

To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect with a focus on Salesforce, NetSuite, Snowflake, and third-party app integrations.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, solution design, and data integration.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, NetSuite ERP, Snowflake data warehousing platforms, and third-party app integration tools.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions. 
  • Ability to travel, as required.

  • Frequent work under time restraints.
  • Travel: minimum of one trip to Folsom headquarters annually, if located remotely.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $115,000 – $130,000. The compensation range is specific to the United States and incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
